Front-End Engineer — OR24.de (Shopware E-Commerce Platform)

As a Front-End Engineer, I contributed to the design, development, and launch of OR24.de, a specialized e-commerce platform for OEM rims and wheels. I was responsible for designing the user interface, creating a custom Shopware theme, and enhancing user experience through interactive components and optimized front-end architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• UI/UX Design & Custom Theme

  • Designed and developed a custom Shopware 6 theme tailored to the automotive niche, emphasizing usability and visual clarity.

  • Created responsive layouts optimized for product configurators, technical specifications, and detailed imagery.

  • Collaborated with stakeholders to translate brand identity into a modern, intuitive front-end experience.

• Plugin Development & Customization

  • Developed and integrated Shopware plugins to support product filtering, vehicle fitment logic, and compatibility checks.

  • Extended existing Shopware functionalities to accommodate complex product variants (e.g., rim sizes, finishes, and bolt patterns).

  • Optimized plugin loading and event handling for better responsiveness and scalability.

• Performance & Quality Assurance

  • Implemented performance optimizations, including lazy loading and caching strategies to improve page speed and SEO ranking.

  • Conducted end-to-end and cross-browser testing to ensure a consistent experience across desktop and mobile.

  • Reviewed and refactored front-end code for maintainability and long-term flexibility.

• Go-Live & Post-Launch Support

  • Coordinated with the development and QA teams for a smooth deployment.

  • Provided ongoing maintenance, bug fixes, and UX refinements based on analytics and customer feedback.
